The President of the Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Globalization Business (MCCGB), Mr. Jeffrey Lau, held a strategic meeting with the Mayor of Batam, Mr. H. Amsakar Achmad, S.Sos., M.Si. The meeting was also attended by the President of MCCGB Indonesia, Mr. Ahmad Wandi, and Vice President of MCCGB Indonesia, Mr. Bagus Atmoyo.
Held in a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere, the discussion focused on exploring cross-border collaboration opportunities between Malaysia and Indonesia, particularly highlighting Batam’s potential as a hub for connectivity and regional economic development.
Various strategic topics were discussed, including regional connectivity enhancement, cooperation in trade and industry sectors, and investment collaboration between business players from both countries.
Mr. Jeffrey Lau expressed his appreciation for the support from the Batam City Government and emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in driving sustainable economic growth across the ASEAN region.
Mr. Ahmad Wandi, President of MCCGB Indonesia, added that MCCGB is ready to serve as a bridge for real collaboration through business forums, entrepreneur exchanges, and joint investment programs.
Mayor Amsakar Achmad welcomed the initiative positively and expressed Batam City’s readiness to become an active partner in strategic cross-border cooperation.
This meeting marks an important first step in strengthening the relationship between MCCGB Malaysia, MCCGB Indonesia, and the Batam City Government in their joint efforts to promote inclusive and sustainable regional economic growth.
